IMazing's 'current' licensing plan, as of the time of this post (July 10th 2022) is an unmitigated nightmare. IExplorer come here 'ahead' and in that case, if I was selecting a license, I would get the 'Family' License (for up to 5 PCs) From the perspective based on:Įither (iMazing or iExplorer) require a working (clean and full) installation of iTunes to operate (or at the VERY least, all the framework/libraries that comes with iTunes)įrom that perspective, either program (iMazing or iExplorer) will be just a matter of which one you are most comfortable with. so i think it will come down to what compromise you are willing to make. U/appleditz, All the 6 points you mentioned in your post, I have managed them in imazing over the years without any problems, though, iExplorer is no longer behind with regard to it's features and reliability. Preferred machines though have SSDs and at least 8 GB of RAM. As far as HW, I have Win 10 running perfectly good on HW from 2005 with only 4 GB RAM. It was only the first few iterations of Win 10 that were a bit flakey. I was on the fence for a long time, sort of ‘trusted’ Win 7, but have since likely done 200+ Win 10 installs here at home. Then enjoy a much more modern and reliable OS that is lightyears ahead of Win 7. You can use the Win 7 key to authenticate your Win 10 install. If you want to be extra prudent, make sure you have the Win 7 license key (on CD case or more likely sticker on laptop) in case your digital license doesn’t upload. Win 10 will install ‘clean’ and you will not have to deal with more than the small amount of crapware that MSFT ships with personal Win 10 installs. This way you get rid of useless OEM partitions that serve no purpose. When you get to installation location, delete ALL partitions on your HDD and let Windows install create what it needs. Then download a Win 10 image onto a bootable USB (MSFT will guide you in the Media Creator Tool) and boot off that USB. Start by installing Win 10 ‘on top’ of Win 7 (in order to fully reg your digital Win 10 license). You can upgrade your Win 7 to Win 10 for free. I would love to hear what your experience has been with these programs, including any issues you have come across. (6) Transfer photos, videos, music and ringtones between devices and computer. (5) Import/export messages between computer and phone. (Can't do it from iCloud "Find my iPhone" is turned off.) (3) Erase all content from the dead phone. (2) Restore backups, especially an iTunes backup from a dead phone. IMazing apparently doesn't need iTunes at all, which is a plus. While iExplorer seems like a better deal price-wise, it does require iTunes to operate. Computers under the iExplorer licence can be registered or deregistered as needed, which makes it a true one-time purchase option. The iMazing licence is limited to the life of each registered device and cannot be transferred, so new devices will cost to add. The licence for iMazing appears to be based on the number of iOS devices you want to use it with, while the one for iExplorer is tied to the number of computers where it will be installed. I have tried out the free versions, and I like both interfaces. I would like to buy one of these programs as an alternative to iTunes for iOS management, and am looking for feedback from those of you who have bought the full version of either one. Update: I bought the 3-device iMazing licence and am very happy with the software, particularly the auto-backup feature, which gives me a better way to transfer photos to my computer than Apple's Photo Stream function.Įditing post for clarity, to keep it on topic
